I am honoured and excited to have been invited to judge the 2021 Continental Sheepdog Championships in Holland, since attending the 2017 World Trial as ISDS Irish National president, I have had the pleasure of returning to Holland a country I have fell in love with, to Judge the 2019 Dutch Open International sheepdog Trials.
I’ve have been competing at trials for 30 years during that time I have been invited to judge trials both at home and in Europe. In 2005 I judged the ISDS World Trial in Tullamore, Ireland. I also have judged the BBC’s one man and his dog twice. On my second occasion of Judging one man and his dog, I judged along with Aled Owen, I very much am looking forward to judging with Aled once again.
I finished my term as ISDS National president in 2018 by hosting the International sheepdog trials at Gill Hall Estate, N/Ireland, we had a lot of visitor attend from all over the world and I am looking forward to meeting up with some of you again.
I would like to wish Erik, Albert and the organising committee the best of luck as they continue with their planning especially is these unprecedented times of having to deal with COVID-19.
A hill farmer close to the Snowdonia National Park, Aled is a master in the art of sheepdog handling. And as if working and trialling his own dogs wasn’t enough, Aled is passing his wealth of expertise and experience on to others by judging competitions plus holding training clinics and tutorials at home and abroad, including America, all over Europe and Scandinavia. These training courses are suitable for people who want to compete in trials or those who want to train their dogs for day to day work on their farms.
